About Serve Summit & The Story of Many Young Zimbabweans
I got lucky. Most young Zimbabweans don't. My sister and I grew up in the same house… The difference between us wasn't talent or effort. It was exposure.
In 2020, I received a scholarship to Harare International School after my O levels. A few years later, I was studying in Canada on another scholarship. Since then, I've interned at Enbridge, one of North America's largest energy companies, completed undergraduate research under leading social entrepreneurship scholars and completed an international internship in Asia through the 2026 Cansbridge Fellowship.
My sister? She earned her degree. Did everything right. Still couldn't find a job in her field.
Her story is more common than mine.
The difference between us wasn't talent or effort. It was exposure. I learned how to find opportunities and how to position myself for them. No one showed her how.
That's why we built the SERVE Summit.
Young people in Zimbabwe have come together to host the first Opportunities Summit built by young people, for young people. A room where students sit with industry leaders and have real conversations about how to access opportunities, steward them, and keep them.
We made it FREE to the student. Because we're done having access depend on who can afford it or who gets lucky.
Harare in August. Bulawayo in September.
We're looking for sponsors who want to be part of making history. Not just logos on a banner, but partners in building infrastructure that gives young Zimbabweans a fair shot.
If your organization believes in youth development, workforce readiness, or closing the opportunity gap, this is your invitation to the table.
